Aliya 4וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃
The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
אֵ֚לֶּה שְׁמ֣וֹת הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁר־יִנְחֲל֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם אֶת־הָאָ֑רֶץ אֶלְעָזָר֙ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וִיהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ בִּן־נֽוּן׃
These are the names of the men who shall allocate the land on your behalf: Elazar the High Priest, and Joshua son of Nun.

אשר ינחלו לכם.בִּשְׁבִילְכֶם; כָּל נָשִׂיא וְנָשִׂיא אַפּוֹטְרוֹפּוֹס לְשִׁבְטוֹ וּמְחַלֵּק נַחֲלַת הַשֵּׁבֶט לַמִּשְׁפָּחוֹת וְלַגְּבָרִים, וּבוֹרֵר לְכָל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד חֵלֶק הָגוּן, וּמַה שֶּׁהֵם עוֹשִׂים יִהְיֶה עָשׂוּי כְּאִלּוּ עֲשָׂאוּם שְׁלוּחִים; וְלֹא יִתָּכֵן לְפָרֵשׁ לכם זֶה כְּכָל לָכֶם שֶׁבַּמִּקְרָא, שֶׁאִם כֵּן הָיָה לוֹ לִכְתֹּב יַנְחִילוּ לָכֶם, יִנְחֲלוּ מַשְׁמַע שֶׁהֵם נוֹחֲלִים לָכֶם — בִּשְׁבִילְכֶם וּבִמְקוֹמְכֶם, כְּמוֹ "ה' יִלָּחֵם לָכֶם" (שמות י"ד):
וְנָשִׂ֥יא אֶחָ֛ד נָשִׂ֥יא אֶחָ֖ד מִמַּטֶּ֑ה תִּקְח֖וּ לִנְחֹ֥ל אֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
You shall take one prince from each tribe, as their representatives, to allocate the land.

לנחל את הארץ.שֶׁיְּהֵא נוֹחֵל וְחוֹלֵק אוֹתָהּ בִּמְקוֹמְכֶם:
וְאֵ֖לֶּה שְׁמ֣וֹת הָאֲנָשִׁ֑ים לְמַטֵּ֣ה יְהוּדָ֔ה כָּלֵ֖ב בֶּן־יְפֻנֶּֽה׃
These are the names of the men: From the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Yefuneh, one of the few surviving elderly members of the generation that left Egypt.
וּלְמַטֵּה֙ בְּנֵ֣י שִׁמְע֔וֹן שְׁמוּאֵ֖ל בֶּן־עַמִּיהֽוּד׃
From the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shmuel son of Amihud.
לְמַטֵּ֣ה בִנְיָמִ֔ן אֱלִידָ֖ד בֶּן־כִּסְלֽוֹן׃
From the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Kislon.
וּלְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵי־דָ֖ן נָשִׂ֑יא בֻּקִּ֖י בֶּן־יָגְלִֽי׃
From the tribe of the children of Dan, the representative was a prince,
לִבְנֵ֣י יוֹסֵ֔ף לְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה נָשִׂ֑יא חַנִּיאֵ֖ל בֶּן־אֵפֹֽד׃
From the children of Joseph: From the tribe of the children of Manasseh a prince, Haniel son of Efod;
וּלְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־אֶפְרַ֖יִם נָשִׂ֑יא קְמוּאֵ֖ל בֶּן־שִׁפְטָֽן׃
From the tribe of the children of Ephraim a prince, Kemuel son of Shiftan.
וּלְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־זְבוּלֻ֖ן נָשִׂ֑יא אֱלִיצָפָ֖ן בֶּן־פַּרְנָֽךְ׃
From the tribe of the children of Zebulun a prince, Elitzafan son of Parnakh.
וּלְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־יִשָׂשכָ֖ר נָשִׂ֑יא פַּלְטִיאֵ֖ל בֶּן־עַזָּֽן׃
From the tribe of the children of Issachar a prince, Paltiel the son of Azan.
וּלְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵי־אָשֵׁ֖ר נָשִׂ֑יא אֲחִיה֖וּד בֶּן־שְׁלֹמִֽי׃
From the tribe of the children of Asher a prince, Ahihud son of Shelomi.
וּלְמַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־נַפְתָּלִ֖י נָשִׂ֑יא פְּדַהְאֵ֖ל בֶּן־עַמִּיהֽוּד׃
From the tribe of the children of Naphtali a prince, Pedahel son of Amihud.
אֵ֕לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֖ר צִוָּ֣ה יְהוָ֑ה לְנַחֵ֥ל אֶת־בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּאֶ֥רֶץ כְּנָֽעַן׃ (פ)
These are those men whom the Lord commanded to allocate the inheritance to the children of Israel, to ensure that all inherit their rightful portion, in the land of Canaan.
