א וְעַתָּה שְׁמַע יַעֲקֹב עַבְדִּי וְיִשְׂרָאֵל בָּחַרְתִּי בוֹ

DISCUSSION
Yeshurun
This is the third name used by the Torah for Jacob. Jacob was his name at birth, Israel was the name given to him following his struggle with the angel (see Genesis 32:29), and Yeshurun was the name used by Moses in his farewell address to the people (see Deuteronomy 32:15, 33:5, 26). The meaning of Yeshurun is precisely the opposite of that of Jacob: The word Jacob alludes to dishonesty and trickery, while Yeshurun refers to yosher, uprightness (see Radak).
